Never buy used tires with: visible patches on the sidewall (plug repairs are OK, sidewall patches are not), uneven wear patterns (indicates alignment or suspension problems from the previous vehicle), exposed belt wires or cords, cracking in the tread grooves (dry rot), or any tire older than 6 years. Also avoid buying used tires from sellers who cannot tell you the tread depth or let you inspect the tires before buying.
