Free Tire Pressure Check and Fill
Low tire pressure wastes gas, wears tires unevenly, and reduces braking performance. Gas station air machines charge $1.50 to $2.00 and half of them are broken. At Nick's, we check and set your tire pressure for free — all four tires plus the spare if you want. We set it to the manufacturer's recommended PSI, not the maximum pressure on the sidewall. Free Visual Brake Check
Wondering if your brakes need attention but not ready to pay for a full inspection? We do a free visual brake check by looking through the wheel spokes to assess pad thickness and rotor condition. It takes 2 minutes per wheel. This is not as thorough as pulling the wheels off, but it catches obvious problems — severely worn pads, deeply grooved rotors, and leaking calipers. If we spot something concerning, we will tell you. If everything looks fine, you are on your way. No charge, no pressure, no appointment.
Free Tire Tread Depth Check
Not sure if your tires need replacing? Bring the car by and we will measure the tread depth on all four tires with a calibrated depth gauge. We will tell you exactly how much tread is left, how evenly the tires are wearing, and roughly how many miles you have left. If the tires are wearing unevenly, we will tell you why — alignment, inflation, rotation — so you can address the cause before it ruins the next set.
