Industry Standard Warranties — What Most Shops Offer
Most independent auto repair shops offer 12 months or 12,000 miles on parts and labor. Some offer 90 days. Chain shops like Midas or Meineke typically offer 12 to 24 months depending on the service. Dealerships usually offer 12 months or 12,000 miles on non-warranty repair work. The industry average is 12/12 — meaning if the same part fails 13 months later, you are paying for the repair again. That is the standard, and most drivers do not think about it until something fails.
Nick's 12-Month, 12,000-Mile Warranty
We warranty our repairs for 12 months or 12,000 miles — three times the industry standard. This covers both parts and labor on the repair we performed. If the same component we replaced fails within that window, we repair it again at no cost. This is not a gimmick — it is a commitment to doing the job right the first time. We can offer this warranty because we use quality parts and our technicians do thorough work. Cheap parts and rushed repairs fail early. Quality work lasts, and we back it up.

What the Warranty Covers
Our warranty covers the specific parts we installed and the labor to replace them if they fail within the warranty period. If we replace your alternator and it fails 2 years later, we replace it again — parts and labor, no charge. The warranty applies to the specific repair performed. It does not cover unrelated failures or normal wear items like brake pads that wear down through normal use. It also does not cover damage caused by accidents, neglect, or modifications.
Why Warranty Matters More Than Price
A brake job that costs $50 less at another shop but only carries a 90-day warranty is not actually cheaper. If those discount brake pads wear out in 18 months instead of 36, you are buying brakes twice in the time you would have bought them once from us. The real cost of a repair includes the warranty period. When you compare repair quotes, compare the total value — parts quality, labor quality, and how long the shop stands behind the work. The cheapest quote with the shortest warranty is usually the most expensive choice over time.
