Why Payment Programs Matter
We see it every week — a Cleveland driver comes in with a serious safety issue, gets the diagnosis, and then has to choose between fixing the car and paying rent. That is not a choice anyone should have to make. Driving on bad brakes, worn tires, or a misfiring engine is dangerous. That is why we accept four different payment-program providers. Bad credit, no credit, limited credit: some of these programs do not require established credit, and each provider decides on its own application. Your safety should not depend on whether you have $800 in your checking account right now.
Our Four Payment Program Providers
We work with four providers, each with its own application and approval criteria. Acima is lease-to-own, not a loan: it says no credit history is required, but it obtains information from consumer reporting agencies. Snap Finance offers lease-to-own and installment products; Snap says applying does not affect your FICO score, though another consumer-report score may be affected. Koalafi offers the highest published maximum, up to $7,500 for qualifying applicants, and says it checks credit through alternative credit bureaus. American First Finance may offer a loan, an installment agreement or a lease, and says credit may be checked. Early purchase or payoff terms differ by provider and agreement. No provider approves everyone, and if one declines you can apply with another.

How It Works
The process is simple. We inspect the vehicle and give you a written repair estimate. You apply with one or more providers, online or at the counter. The provider decides, and its offer shows the amount, the payment schedule and the total cost. If you accept, we perform the repair and you make payments under that agreement. The initial payment varies by provider and agreement; Acima offers a $10 start only in select circumstances. Lease-to-own costs more than the cash price over a full term, and loan rates vary, so compare the total of payments. We walk through the terms with you before you commit.
What You Can Cover With a Payment Program
Payment programs can cover many repair and maintenance purchases, such as brakes, tires, engine repair, transmission work, suspension and electrical, but each provider decides what qualifies. Minimum and maximum amounts vary by provider; published maximums run up to $7,500 for qualifying applicants. You can also use a payment program for preventive maintenance like timing belt replacements and fluid services — investing in maintenance now prevents expensive emergency repairs later.
Apply Before You Wait
Do not put off safety repairs because of money. Apply at the shop or call ahead and we can walk you through the process over the phone; the provider gives its decision on its own application. Call (216) 862-0005 or drive to 17625 Euclid Ave, Cleveland. Nick's Tire and Auto — because safe brakes should not wait until payday.
